Programmes of Study at the Faculty
Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences are intended primarily to prepare students for a professional career in public administration, academic research or the media. They are divided into three self-contained cycles:

A bachelor degree cycle (generally 3 years), which leads to a Bachelor degree (Bc.)

A master's degree cycle (generally an additional 2 years), which leads to a Master's degree (Mgr.)

Doctoral studies (generally 3 years), which lead to the awarding of a Doctorate (PhD).
Degree Programmes. The Faculty currently offers degree programmes in the following subjects. (Please note that under Czech law, degree programmes are subject to a two-tier system of accreditation. Numbers and titles on the left refer to the broader subject areas, under which our degree programmes are accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education; titles on the right refer to individual degree programmes within the framework of that broader subject area.)
